All of those phrases are metaphors, which are not meant to be taken literally. "The four corners of the Earth" are North, South, East, and West. "The world is firmly established, it cannot be moved" is a METAPHOR. You do not interpret it literally. The world doesn't refer to the concrete world called Earth. Its' an abstract term. "The earth's foundation" is the same as the latter-a METAPHOR. It represents something abstract. You need to broaden your scope of mind before you go attacking this subject.
