What America has become
by proxywar

To summarize Audrey's position:

We invaded a foreign country, and through a heavy-handed occupation, killed hundreds of thousands of their people (fathers, mothers, children all). And because their feeble resistance managed to kill a few of our soldiers, we should, as revenge, commit genocide against that country on a scale the world has never seen, and against its neighbors too. Audrey does not say this by mistake, or somehow not understand what she has said. She understands perfectly and means it.

Nor is she unusual or alone in her beliefs. If you eliminate that portion of America which is simply apathetic about the Middle East, and count heads who care what happens there, Audrey is probably on the majority side. It was their fault that we invaded; their fault that we destroyed their country; and will be their fault when we kill them all. The bible foretells it.

This is what America has become. It might seem like the Iraq thing is getting old, but only the first chapter of the story has been written.
