This review sounds as if Ms. Stevens didn't like the film simply because she doesn't like the Coen Bros. It's a bad break that she was assigned the movie, i guess. But saying Cormac McCarthy and the Coens have a "cult" following feels incredibly condescending, especially in the latter case. (They have, after all, won an Oscar and the Cannes Grand Prix.) They're no more fringe-dwellers than any other independent filmmakers of their generation. Is it too much to call it an "audience"?
