I have made the point elsewhere. We should not be fighting to make the world free for democracy. It is our constituition, it is our Bill of Rights, It is our minority freedoms that make the United States great. Using the word Democracy is a misnomer and has very real consequences as we are seeing right now. Saying we are fighting for "democracy" leaves the U.S. open to charges of going against the ":will or the people" when a majority want to negate the rights of a minority to live in peace, etc.
