enter the fray: our reader discussion forum
A Friday OPP, if you will?
by Lunesta

Yesterday, in a sub-thread discussion on IslandTime's fine Thursday OPP post, some of us got involved in a little talk about translations from the Spanish, and Pablo Neruda. When I looked up this poem (one of my own PN favorites) today on the Net, there was no translator listed. So, we are "reading blind" here, so to speak. Anyway, any and all comments are welcomed, whether about Neruda, translation as an art form or a tool, and of course, the poem itself.

I'm particularly interested to learn which images from this Ode, PFraysters might admire (or not) and why. I have three that just jump out at me, but will save my own comments for last. Thanks for your participation, in advance, and thanks to all who joined the Poetry Joke Contest thread the other day. Good fun, all around.
