That's a book I'll be glad to skip! But as for everyday items being praised, Neruda's choices are wonderful: his suit, "a large tuna in the market," onions, lemons, various trees and other plants, just really your basic everyday items and things we might overlook which are actually the joys that make everyday life bearable, fun & worth living. I think I'll post the tuna one today! And thank YOU for introducing us to a Latin writer whom some of us did not (yet) know. Thumbs-up, L.
