So far, I like this best of the very few translations of Neruda that I've seen. Simply visionary. (What can I say, I also like salt -- as in "I like to breathe" or "I like chocolate". ;) )

Most interesting: I read the English text and much appreciated it, and then read the Spanish thank-you note that followed. Even I could tell how much the translation of the poem had to leave out perforce, and it made me do a mental and emotional double-take. The prosaic thank-you note, by its sheer euphony alone, was more striking than the poem, and that is saying a lot. So much for English! :)
