Kids are not pets. Stop tagging them!

Pedophiles make me sick to my stomach, but I would never put a chip on my child to help me protect them against pedophiles.
Someone arguing for the RFID chip would say that the benefits outweigh the risks. I would say not. You cannot create a generation of children who have never known freedom of movement for the sake of protecting the few that may get kidnapped by crazies.
Bad things happen everywhere and tagging our children is not an answer to the problems. If someone wants to kidnap your kids, they will. You have to teach your kids to be vigilant and street smart.
If RFID chip was to become widely used by parents, it would only put their kids in more danger. Tags can be detected and removed. Just like when you like to speed to buy a speed trap detector, if you are a kidnaper and you know that kids are tagged, you would get a tag detector.
This whole fascination about knowing where are kids are at every waking moment is not doing them a service. Teach them well, trust them, let them know you trust them and tell them to be aware of their surroundings and they should be fine.
