Re: Children and society values
by schopenhauer
Messy, sir, I don't care if children used the "life is shit" philosophy to not do homework in your class. You didn't address the philosophy, you just (yet again, predictabley) smugly dismissed the philosophy, making yourself look like the logical matter-of-fact person in the process. It is a moral issue. Having kids is immoral. It can possibly as immoral as other actions deemed in the realm of moral theory. By saying this is just a personal choice, you are not looking at the universal nature of the problem. Is it your personal opinion that we should steal if we are inclined to do so? I guess in some ethical systems or in unthoughout ones, yes. However, in this system, I have logically explained why life is suffering (whether y ou delude yourself into believing it isn't) and explained the best course of action is to not have children and throw beings into the world to suffer. Also, you may say "Well! You can't tell me life inherently sucks, I can only make that decision!" I believe if you don't think that life is suffering you are deluding yourself sir. You are reverting to pollyanaism where everything that was actually bad in the past is looked on as not so bad in a future time, or you have indoctrinated yourself to think everything is good, even though things are actually bad.
