i don't have nearly the misanthropic, doom and gloom perspective the original poster did, but i'd support any measure to require licenses for breeding for humans. some form of reversible sterilization that would force people to take a parenting class, undergo a background check for violent or sexual offenses and some other minor obstacles that would prevent the unchecked continued booming of our population.

i mean, i need a license for my car and pets, and would need one for a marriage, gun or any building projects on my property. why is the freedom to mindlessly pop out kids (whose existence does affect everyone else) somehow an unquestioned right?
