Are largest problem is that we are being entirely to "Nice" as the article so conveniently made brief mention of. There was a time long ago, when this country would have torn through Iraq with reckless abandon and leveled troubled cities that gave way to terrorists.
Now, we can't even use a robot down an Iraqi street in fear that it may destroy a cities infrastructure. We have been fighting with one hand tied behind our backs for to long. But I suppose thats the nature of the present day American mind.
Always afraid of international sentiment, when in reality, we never really generated anything less then contempt and disdain no matter what we do as a country. Particularly from the middle east.
Iraq is a hot, violent, and sad place with a people who needed a dictator to brutalize them into submission. Even if we would leave tomorrow, violence and turmoil would spread as religious factions battled for control, in a tit-for-tat war of "My version of God is better then your's".
Like the rest of the middle east, Iraq is what it is. Africa but with oil. A land with out civility or respect for life and law.
