avoid black-or-white thinking

MaryAnn, I have exercised GREAT care to say so when I find ANY redeeming quality in the sucky stuff we've been handed lately.

FOR EXAMPLE -- last week -- I took care to go through the entire poem -- explaining the Breughel references, etc., when, to tell the truth, it simply sucked.

I did not see one single redeeming factor in this week's poem. I DID say the nature images were nice -- that was the most positive thing this word witch could conjure.

NO. There is not ALWAYS a grey area in these poems.

If it looks like it and smells like it I think we know what it is.

And I'm not gonna play Ms. Goody Two Shoes when someone tramples the area I consider Sacred Ground.

Take your shoes off. This is the House of Poetry.
