Re: I can't understand why O.J.
by szkott

I disagree.

I'm not sure I understand what you're trying to say. My guess is you want to say that white liberal media is saying we should feel sorry for O.J. because he's black? The article doesn't even mention the word "black".

The Jena Six events have proven that racial tensions are still prevalent in the US. It's ignorant attitudes among many whites that everything is hunky dory and squared away that's doing black people a lot of harm these days.

There's so much racism in America lurking just below the surface. It's still harder for a black person to make it in America than it is for whites. That shouldn't be used as an excuse, but White Liberal Patriots should be aware that there's still a long road ahead and that people need to be educated, so that they understand that there really is no such thing as race, biologically speaking.

Equal rights has only been given lip service. Many American hearts still hold prejudices against people who are perceived to be different based on skin color. It's going to take quite a few generations to eliminate it.

Apologists like you want people to think slavery was OK. Or that it was only those damn Southerners. That it was somehow normal at the time. It wasn't. You probably think 1964 was a long time ago too. It's really a disgrace that blacks didn't get the right to vote in the US until 1964. We basically had apartheid in the US until 1964! It's not that long ago. Most of the people in power today grew up before blacks got the right to vote. Back when racial discrimination was not only OK, but supported by the LAW.

Your racist comment has proven my point. The article had nothing to do with race, but you had to try to inject some sort of racial element into it.
