I was online when it happened and kept an eye on the developing story I never saw that statement issued. Not saying somebody didn't say it, but that somebody could just as easily been a rightwing yakker making a hypothetical as a real agent issuing a statement.

The "Allahu Akbar" bit has never been confirmed, either. Even the officer who related it to the media did so with caveats ("I heard that he said..."). Nobody has repeated or confirmed that, as far as I know. Of course, Ink will say that it hasn't been confirmed intentionally as part of the massive media cover-up.

That's the wonderful part of this (or any) conspiracy cover-up theory...any event that gets reported is "tip of the iceberg," and any event that gets dismissed or any rumor that gets debunked or any event that doesn't get reported at all happened anyway.
