Actually I think Saletan should be making a point about the value of having more women in the police forces.

We have already seen in the Phillip Garrido case (child molester who kidnapped an 11 year old girl , kept her in his back yard for 15 years, and fathered 2 girls with her) how two women officers were able to see subtle clues that the male officers had missed for a dozen years prior, and cracked the case wide open.

Now we have the example of this brave policewoman taking 2 bullets and still managing to bag the terrorist.

I think a very good case could be made about having more women as officers.
