Retrench from "Not in the name of Islam?"

They were never in that trench.

I don't recall Cone giving much comment either way on the matter of Hasan's Muslimness. I watched most of the afternoon and all night, and the closest I saw him come to "Not in the name of Islam" was in response to a question about whether it was a terrorist act, which apparently go hand-in-hand by your way of thinking.

Re "terrorism" Cone said something to the effect that "We can't rule it out but the evidence doesn't indicate it at this point."

Your top post is addressing the FBI's initial statement (which I haven't seen nor heard) that it doesn't appear to be a terrorist act or hate crime. I didn't see anything about the FBI assuring everyone that Hasan wasn't acting "In the name of Islam."

Your larger point seemed (and still seems) to be that they, the FBI, are somehow tip-toeing around the fact that Hasan is a Muslim.

I get it.

You think that the PC-FBI, and the MSM based on previous posts, bend over backwards to avoid offending the sensibilities of Muslims. It would seem that rather than taking the "we can't rule out terrorism but so far the evidence wouldn't suggest that" approach, you'd have preferred that they take the Cheney approach. He's a Muslim, so let's focus on that because of course only Muslims are terrorists, and while we can't prove it, we think most Muslims are terrorists.

And did we mention that he's a Muslim?
