Well. Every year medical co-pays and employee fees go up for those with health insurance and the number of Americans without health insurance increases.

So I would say we are doing both. (Whether I pay for my coverage through taxes or insurance company premiums is not relevant: It still comes out of my pocket).

And, while paying about twice, per capita, what every other industrialized country spends, we still do not rank anywhere near the top in life expectancy or infant mortality. So I would say since we are not getting good value for our money, it is time to try their methods, which appear to provide better results.
