Most active women lose their hymens long before they ever have intercourse. It doesn't actually take all that much, so doing sports and bike riding can accomplish the deed. I know that I have no idea when I lost mine, it was certainly long before I had sex. I also suspect that a teenager who is aware enough of sex to know about vibrators is not going to be clueless when it comes to the hymen.
