Virginity is highly overrated.
I learned more about sexuality, STDs, contraception and the like from my 7th grade 'Lifestyles' class at a (gasp!) Catholic private school than I did from my parents. So it's cool that LW thinks this is something that she can talk to her mom about, BUT, masterbation is a private affair.....and since it's nothing that's going to hurt her, she can keep from her parents....(why the heck would anyone think that she HAS to tell her mom she's masterbating??? Um, yeah.)
Heck, I had been masterbating since I was in 4th grade.....and it felt good, was natural and safe....heck, after the 7th grade class I made up my mind...."No sex until I'm 18 and can get BC pills on my own, and the guy either has to wear a condom, or bring me test resulst that he's STD negative before I'll do anything with him" But thanks to explaoration and masterbation, I know what I like, I know what makes me feel good, and I'm realxed enough about my sexuality to actually enjoy it each and every time I have it......
Prides raise sexually repressed females who can't get off. (My two cents and not backed up by any facts other than talking with GFs of mine)
