A US state just chose to deprive tens of thousands of it's residents equal protection under the marriage laws, and you think one would have to be directly affected by it to be bothered? That's creepy. If I expressed an opposition to slavery would you assume I must be black? Do you only care about injustices when they hurt you, personally?
