Yes, I did refer to the LW as a child. I know she's not a child in the same sense as a five year old would be, but she is still under the authority of her parent(s), still their responsibility, and again it leads me back to my original argument. I think the LW is best served talking things over with her mom, especially since she clearly stated they have the kind of relationship where it can be freely discussed.
