Sheer awe at the energy and labor that went into the building of the edifices plus acknowledgment that these people, like us, planned, thought, probably reflected, were self aware, and imagined expanded, perhaps even infinite, existence. It also leads me to wonder when those qualities first emerged and how they may have developed or evolved and to what extent these qualities may be common to other species.
