I, for one, strongly encourage the teaching of the Bible. I was a Christian as a child, but I outgrew that largely thanks to finally getting around to reading the Bible. When you've only had selected bits and pieces of that book read to you, it's easyto imagine it's a great source of truth and moral vision. But that myth evaporates when you actually take the time to read the whole thing. The greatest counterargument against JudeoIslamoChristianity is simply becoming familiar with their sacred texts.
