Don't hide behind the Bible. You know, as well as me, that the Bible is so self-contradictory, vague, and verbose that it can be used to stand for pretty much any principle you want it to stand for. I could use it to justify stoning women to death for wearing pants. I could use it to justify jailing people for doing any work on Sunday (or Saturday, for that matter). I could use it to say that capital punishment is always wrong. I could use it to justify taking every last penny from wealthy people and giving it to the poor. I could use it to say eating shrimp is an abomination. Or to outlaw the growing of mixed crops, or to justify forcing farmers to leave their fields untended every few days, or to give men the legal right to sell their daughters into slavery and to beat their wives for disobedience. I could use it to justify criminalizing divorce. I could use it to outlaw any art that depicts an image of something. I could use it to justify genocide. There is ample material for any of that. What you believe doesn't come from the Bible. You simply bring what you believe to the Bible and search it for support. So your anti-gay bigotry is your own. The mere fact you can turn up support for it in the Bible doesn't excuse you from the sin of your bigotry any more than a racist is excused from the sin of his racism by the fact the Bible is full of racism.
