How we got on the Olympics--which any President would have endorsed for Chicago--I'm not sure. But anyone with any knowledge of Chicago's bid knows it was a total disaster marked by statements from the organizers which were at best uninformed and were at worst outright lies: The Olympics would only cost $3 billion (note that London has spent something like $15 billion and they're not done yet) and would bring in some absurd amount like $20 billion (this in the face of the fact that the Olympics never make money, let alone a return like that).
