Re: All Politics is Local
by genedio

I don't recognize today's Democrats in congress and the White House as the same Democrats I grew up with, and so have very little invested in them emotionally. But I must say that most Republicans are even worse. We need a third party, or perhaps better said, we need a second party. I'm leaning towards compassionate libertarianism, AKA progressive libertarianism. Sort of a cross between Ron Paul and Michael Moore...if you can imagine it. Yeah, I know, that chasm's pretty wide.

As for Democrats in congress being worried about their seats, probably not, as you've pointed out all politics is LOCAL. Many seats are safe. But Obama should perhaps be worrying. And, as you say, he has delivered zilch besides rhetoric. Not that Bush's disaster of an economy could have been repaired now, but Acrophony is full of it if he think's it's on the mend. W$ is partying like it's 1999 while Main Street is in a depression. That's hardly worth celebrating. In fact, it reminds me of Reaganomics and Bushonomics.
