Yes pay for it yourself or we will tax you. Only a conservative would call having someone else pay it for you freedom.

What if I want to self-insure?

Then self insure. You can also go to private schools but why hold everyone else hostage and prevent them from participating in government health insurance plans. It is a bit like saying only private schools should be allowed. You could imagine the results with regards to schools and we can see the results with regard to health insurance. Millions are left out.

The problem in both cases is that I am forced to pay for the government option whether I choose to participate in it or not.
