What do you think about the new regulations requiring blogs to disclose who gives them advertising money?
I have no problem with that. I always believe that more information made available to the public is always a good thing.
Do you think marketing is dishonest in a way or is it simply putting out information and letting people decide if they want to be consumers?
Marketing is only dishonest when it lies: IE Swiftboat Kerry attacks, or diet pill ads.
Does marketing create demand where there otherwise wouldn't be demand?
Often, yes. Marketing of personal computers for example created a demand and aren't we glad it did?
If so, is that immoral?
No, see above. I don't use the word, immoral, as I see that as a subjective word--for example, the 9-11 hijackers thought they were being moral because their behavior was in line with their belief system. Same with Bush.
I will use the word, unethical. I believe that marketing harmful substances to children is unethical. Things like Joe Camel, or certain alcohol commercials, and high sugar cereals.
Do you think lobbying is good or bad for our political system?
Wrong Question. I often lobby my political representatives, and I believe that is a good thing.
How is it good? How is it bad? How can it be stopped (if you think it's bad)?
I think the question you are asking is about corporate lobbyists. They also have a right to access their Reps. However, it is campaign money that is the problem. I believe that campaigns should all be publicly funded, so that deep-pocket lobbyists don't have unequal sway over our representatives.
