Needless criticism and no alternatives
by foobar
The gist of this article seems to be "Drupal is HARD!" If the author took the time to really understand Content Management Systems, of which Drupal is a representative sample, I think he would find that his criticisms are not specific to the Drupal platform. I think you'll find that all powerful content management systems, like Drupal, Plone, Expression Engine, Wordpress, or [your favorite CMS here], are all struggling with really good usability, effectively managing different content types, and other issues. And frankly, they're all hard to understand, to some degree, if you're unfamiliar with CMS concepts. In my opinion, Drupal is just as good as, if not better than, some of the other systems mentioned in terms of flexibility of displaying different types of content in very dynamic ways. Drupal also excels at grouping things together, whether it's people (users) or types of information. I think the authoer should do a bit more research on the concept of Content Management systems before slamming one particular platform.
