The Afghans ARE grown adults -- but they demonstrably CANNOT be trusted to handle their own affairs. We had a good long time of watching them handle their own affairs under the Taliban, and they provided a safe-having and training ground for terrorists. If they had handled their own affairs, we wouldn't have had Osama bin Laden hiding there.

Perhaps they can't and demonstrably handle their own affairs in the way we would like them to perhaps a fan in the way they would like themselves to. Having watched our congressmen and everybody else arguing over health care and health insurance I'm not certain we ought to be giving lessons to anybody! Anyway, while we worry about all the terrorists they can have training what about the history of armed nutcases running our woods.
