My reply was directly in response to your question. There used to be a lot of reader responses here. Now there are few. It's due to the moderator. All of these things are facts.

I'm sorry, your response was condescending and rude. If I walked into a gathering of you and your friends and proceeded to explain how you were being rude by not using the proper fork and whipped out a copy of Miss Manners to explain it, people would call me a bore. You did the internet equivalent of that.

I didn't screw up. I answered the question you asked. Nor is it a social faux pas to thread jack in DP, as other people have explained to you. After the first day, the letters have been beaten to death and it becomes more of a free wheeling social environment. And technically, if we want to play by the stick where the sun don't shine sort of rules, you were in the wrong by posting a question that wasn't related to the letters of the week. Technically, if one wants to be precise, there is a separate forum for questions regarding the functionality and format of Slate and your question should have been directed there. But we let it slide since you were new....
