I didn't know that deliberate was another name for focus groups and polling.

I am all for a comprehensive deliberate plan, but I repeat:

Where's the Beef?

Was Afghanistan a surprise to Obama? Did he just learn about it last month? Were the election problems unforseen?

Supposing the election problem was a surprise (fire Hillary for incompetence), what was the plan before that?

Obama promised he would support the troops to the hilt and (shades of FDR) give them the tools to get the job done.

Now he is quibbling about the job???

Maybe if he played less hoops and campaigned less for the Olympics we might actually see a plan. Or maybe it will be like the healthcare plan; we have it but we won't let you read it.
