But you've made the argument that "no one wants to ban hunting guns." And I repeat my argument that there is no mechanical different between the "hunting" guns and the "assault" guns. They do the same thing.

However, I would like to see the link on how to convert an AR-15 to full auto with a few simple tools in about an hour. I'm not convinced this sort of thing can be done without access to a machine-shop and the kind of skills which could just as easily have been used to build a Sten sub-machine gun from scratch. I've attended gun shows and I read gun magazines and books, but I've never come across any easy ways to do a conversion. (Thirty years ago there were some hunting semi-autos that could easily be made to fire full-auto by fiddling with the innards; the BATF made them change the design to prevent that. The few which were sold which ARE easily convertible are worth a lot of money to collectors.)
