OK, that's easy: Yes. It is a good law.

On that I disagree. But I will address it further in a following post.

There are two ways a law can be considered good. Either it does some good thing, or it is a law which has been written and passed in an appropriate manner so that it won't be overthrown. Yeah, I know: you don't like that observation either.

Well, I suppose this is a matter of semantics, but it seems to me that a good law is one that does some good thing, while a law that is written in an appropriate manner would better be described as a valid law, regardless of your opinion of its beneficialness.

Regardless, it does absolutely no good to refute a complaint that a law is immoral by retorting that it is a legitimately passed law and therefore the law of the land. A great number of immoral things in our history were at one time legal.
