I suppose I lean toward an "eat the rich" position, however, since I am the rich (at least moderately), it is not a self-serving position. I think the organization of our economy and society are out of kilter, and there are many ways of improving it.

You advised earlier that one way of changing things is to become a major enough stockholder to influence the company. Now you do understand, certainly, that there are only a few hundred people in a country of a third of a billion who would be able to do that. I once had a 3.2% interest in a small private corporation, but found that gave me absolutely no power to affect the path the company was taking. Given the very limited capability of stockholders to affect the affairs of corporations they own, I see having the government constrain the acts of the employees of those corporations as desirable. I will note that the very fact that the Boards of Directors of most corporations are not comprised of the most major stockholders is a sign of the deplorable degeneration of the manner in which US corporations are operated. A corporation should, in my opinion, be controlled by the stockholders and not by hired hands. That was the case in the past so there is nothing revolutionary about the concept.
