Except that when you say that the Discovery Institute is "motivated by religious and social ideology," you're being too kind. DI is largely funded by Reconstructionist Dominionists, whose stated purpose is to overthrow the government of the United States and replace it with a theocracy. Sound crazy? It is crazy. However, it also happens to be true. If you haven't already read Creationism's Trojan Horse by Forrest and Gross, you'd find it very interesting. It's a blow-by-blow account of DI, and it's loaded with references and quotes.
