Once, I dreamed I was in a maze, with a mad dwarf chasing after me. (It was worse than the time, in real life, when a Turkish sailor was after me). I was saved by Mrs. Olsen, of Folger's Coffee fame.
Supplies are low at the food pantry in rural PA where I work as a volunteer. Haven't had cheese or butter to give out for several months. (Actually, that latter item has been margarine for years). This condition or state of our community's being is the result of some people's inability to agree on what should go into a state budget. Funny thing: soon as state workers began to be laid off, word came down that we were no longer required to ask any would-be recipient for proof of income.
It's not that I think a public option--or, better yet, a one-payer system--would cause medical personnel to become employees of the state/die-hard Democrats. It's just that I wonder about those 53 new "bureaus" that some Republican member of the U.S. Congress said would be necessary for us to create, if we were to adopt for ourselves what's known as a public option.
