From a practical POV, Conservative Christian schools such as Patrick Henry or Liberty University have about as much social or political impact as Notre Dame, Brigham Young, or UCLA. Why? There are 300 million people in the U.S. and 10% is non-Christian which is about 30 million people. About 30% are theologically liberal Christians or about 90 million people. There are at least 2,000 religious denominations in the U.S. Further, a surprising number of evangelical conservative Christians do not automatically adhere to the entire conservative political agenda of leaders such as Dr. Dobson or Jerry Falwell. Most conservative Christians I know understand that civil society means just that. People may not agree on lifestyles, sexual morality, religion or politics but tolerance is preferable to civil conflict or religious wars.
