Somalia is the ultimate example of libertarianism in the same way that Stalin's USSR is the ulitmate expression of progressivism. It's the a ridiculous over-extension of a simplistic misinterpretation by those who lack a deeper understanding of the concept. You appear to conflate limited government with full-on anarchy in the same way that many Limbaugh/Glen Beck & Ann Coulter disciples conflate the notion of a safety net with full-on communism.

Here's the problem. I can point out numerous examples of peaceful, prosperous nations with relatively large populations that host strong safety nets, are socialist, and some of which have top income tax rates that even in my humble opinion cross the border into confiscatory. On the flip side, it's difficult to find a nation of any real size with a government as weak as that desired by libertarians that is in any way functional. There might be a few city or island states, territories, etc. that subsist off from fleecing tourists, the largess of a larger nation, providing offshore havens for money or leasing PO boxes to the corporations that are "based" there, but that's pretty much it.
