My weapon of the choice is the HTC Touch Pro 2 Customise the hell out if it, go to XDA developers and PPC geeks and grab your favorite cab files or cooked ROM and flash it. Then back it up with Sbp backup. My favorite cab/hacks are:

SPJ Battery (extends batter life optimizes power)

Regedit Mrln (allows registry edits--I use those to get caller ID on the blue tooth headset instead of my ringtone--yeesh, who needs the ring tone--tell me who's calling so I can decide to pick up or not!

Once you've got it set, make multiple copies of your backup ROM and if you lose or damage the handset le Asurion replace the device and then flash it with your custom ROM and * poof * you're done. No need to recustomize it every time you switch.
