If pot were "legalized" across the board, and if the Feds put in place some sort of pseudo-subsidies for farmers large and small, agricultural fields would replace housing developments practically overnight, and our national debt would be erased in 2 years. 3 tops. In 4 years we'd have about 5.9 jillion bucks in our national piggy bank. Legalize heroin today, and we could pull out of Afghanistan next week. Never happen. We're puritans through and through. Ironically, it's the social conservatives ruining the country they supposedly love so much. Full disclosure: I've not burnt a rope since West Virginia (1st week of March). (Technically that's not true. I haven't made a habit of it since then, though I've hit the bong a couple times when feeling not terrible.) Fingers crossed and all that. Pot is a low impact crop, no heavy equipment, just the love and care anyone who likes to grow things has in abundance. I.e., it'd be a good fit. (Keifus is gay!)
