The $1.4 trillion deficit was 30 years in the making, Obama didn't bring it into existence by winning the White House. His contribution was the portion of the stimulus bill to be spent this year. Everything else was inherited. For the Tea Party members to have credibility, they should have been out there eight years ago protesting tax decreases, military spending, and Medicare expansion. A true fiscal conservative would have required a cap on spending and insisted that the surplus be utilized to pay down the national debt. Where were the Tea Parties then when they actually could have helped prevent this $1.4 trillion dollar deficit and held our national debt to well under $10 trillion?
