Maybe if all 60,000 or so protesters had taken a cyanide capsule you would have a point in comparing them to the Union soldiers that bled and died on the battle grounds of the Civil War. Yeah, 60,000 protesters showing up to protest is a huge sacrifice compared to fighting and dieing by the thousands of wounds and disease while performing hard marches and physical labor, sustained by gnawing on hard tack, salted meat and crappy coffee during a five year long conflict. Those Tea Party folks are real heroes. Almost as patriotic as the tens of thousands that routinely gather in stadiums around the country to watch college and NFL football games. You know, I stood in line for 15 minutes to vote. Maybe I deserve the Medal of Freedom.

The liberal media gave the 60,000 protesters all the coverage they deserved, and Fox gave them significantly more. Remember the gay rights protest that took place later? How it was on all the news outlets and running 24-7 on Fox News. Wait, that didn't happen because only 50,000 or so people showed up on the Mall. Face it, protests in Washington don't garner massive media attention for bringing 60,000 people.
