Describe the layout of you house. What is in each room? enter on the first floor into the living room (two large sofas, a plush chair, coffee table, modest television, radio, dog bed), clockwise, stairs to the left, closet, stairs to the basement, kitchen (medium-sized, well-equipped, but a larger kitched would make cooking easier), dining room (features a large aquarium), short hallway leads to the laundry room and a half-bath, back to the living room. upstairs, immediately to the left is the guest bathroom, then the master bedroom (bed, two large dressers, two closets, master bathroom accessible only via master bedroom, features a jacuzzi), guest bedroom (bed, bookshelves, dresser, desk), alcove/landing leads to next set of stairs, linen closet. up the next set of stairs is a finished attic (large sofa, coffee table, cube dresser set up as a room divider, bed, desk, dresser).
What is outside? outside, narrow porch, sidewalk, strip of grass, street, small bushes along the exterior walls, around the corner, a small patch of lawn, driveway, smallish back yard, faux-brick patio (grill).
What is your favorite part and why? my favorite room is the master bedroom, though i spend more time asleep in it than awake.
Ever been to a soccer game outside the United States? Describe it. If you been to several, how is the "vibe" different between them? i have not, sadly. but i have (regrettably) been to 2 mls games. they were awful.
Why did you pick paper shuffling as a career? i chose paper shuffling to make money.
What would you rather be doing? i'm not sure i'd rather be doing anything else.
What do you like most about your job? i enjoy interacting with my clients.
What do you like least about your job? i don't enjoy the short deadlines.
Why does being human mean being lonely to you? being human doesn't mean being lonely. being human means being a social creature. in other words, society with others is a human need; loneliness is only incidental/implied--i.e., when there is a lack of society.
Do you think you're lonelier than the average person? i do not think i am presently lonelier than the "average" person--it may depend on who we're talking about. the average american? i don't believe i'm lonelier than him/her. the average __________? perhaps.
How does posting here help lessen your loneliness? Or does it? posting here used to be effective because acknowledgement (whether positive or negative) by others meant affirmation--of intelligence, talent, humor, generosity, benevolence, malevolence, power, etc. i believe, however, that these are "false" interactions--i.e., without consequence--the affirmative effects become short-lived, thence addictive, thence intrusive, thence delusional.
Tell us a story about your travels. Tell us the best vacation adventure and the worst. the best vacation was ireland. we arrived in dublin and toured with a group for the next three days--not an exceptionally impressive tour. however, the following week or so, we hired a rental car, skipping from one b&b to the next, all across southern ireland. beautiful country, beautiful seasides, wonderful people. romantic. the worst vacation was mexico city, visiting a "friend" (who mostly left me to wander the city on my own). not romantic, not interesting, a little scary.
Where do you want to go next? i'd like to revisit paris. revisiting key west is also on my mind.
Same question if money isn't a limit? Same question if nothing is a limit. if time was no limit, i'd visit australia. as much, i'd like to camp/hike in yellowstone.
