Our national security has absolutely nothing to do with being able to "win" in Afghanistan other than the fact that if we keep going as we're going, we'll wind up like the old Soviet Union. Of course the poppy fields are doing better than ever. There are those who are making a lot of money off of that. With all of the photos that I've seen with our soldiers watching the Afghans harvesting their fields with no interference from us, we don't seem to consider the increase in drug use as a problem. We just want to finish building those pipelines.
