It's not "banned" any more than schoolchildren are "forbidden" from praying. The government just isn't allowed to take any action that endorses through inclusion or exclusion any particular religious belief. This doesn't in any way infringe upon your right to believe in whatever mythology you wish. It just prevents the government from infringing on everyone else's right to do so by forcing it to stay out of the debate entirely.
