I'm not sure that the argument "It's okay for LW's boyfriend to be a loser because we're all losers nowadays!" is much of an argument. Is this really what modern women have to look forward to? Staying with some loser who spends his leisure hours doped up, who's irresponsible enough to put other people's lives in danger by drinking & driving, and who loves and respects her so much that he goes to clubs and gropes other women, and then maybe he'll be gracious enough to marry and support her until his hot new trophy wife comes along? Selfishness, irresponsibility, and acting like a teenager well into your 30's?
