I share your frustration with the squishy numbers being cited by everyone. The "12 (20?) million illegal alien" number is probably no better than the "48 million uninsured" number. We don't have many facts or trusted sources on this regardless of where we stand on the issues. Sorry if I stated one that struck a sour note with you.

I think my point is still valid. We could redirect the unused stimulus money to insure everyone who wants insurance but cannot get it now and have them be covered for a long time. The number who actually took the offer would give us some idea of the real number of uninsured.

I want to see a good, workable plan, not a quick one that we will regret later. It was just an idea to get some time to do it right.
