You're facing some tough decisions and they're obviously causing a lot of stress. Once you're able to come to some practical conclusions your stress level may well subside. Getting to point A from point B is a biggie though.

May I offer a suggestion? If there is such a thing as people who can be trusted anymore, perhaps you could find a husband/wife team who you could offer free lodging to in exchange for them doing all of the work. Then you could be free to do whatever you feel up to doing and not have to do what you don't. Maybe you could advertise in a magazine like "Mother Earth News" where there are people who are gung-ho about living off the land and leading a simpler life. It's just a thought.

As for not wanting to move because of your dogs, I have a similar situation with my cats. I too have thought about selling everything and moving someplace where my family would be forced to fend for themselves and I could just do whatever I want to do. The problem of course, is what would I do with all of my cats. There are 5 of them and they range in age from 10-13. They're too old to adjust to new homes even if one's could be found for them, and they're too many to move into a small place.

Then there is the idea that to make it financially feasible, I would almost have to move to a different part of the country where I wouldn't know anyone at all. At my age, that's probably not a terrific idea.

Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure that it will be a wise decision. Of course you know that you have my very best wishes for whatever that may be.

For now, try your best to take it as easy as possible and get as well as possible so that you can enjoy this next stage of your life.
