...Dick Cheney gives Inglorious Basterds two thumbs up!
There is no truth to the rumor that Eric Prince has penned a steamy , C4 scented love letter to Brad Pitt, after watching Inglorious Basterds.
Just sayin...
There is a difference between the exploits of a 'rogue' military unit and the business of mercenaries and the difference is money. The 'Inglorious Basterds' and any other regular troops like them are paid the same crummy pay of any other soldier (there are now some financial incentives like additional pay for parachuting but it is not that much more) unlike modern mercenaries who command great salaries from corporations with generous government contracts, often 'cost plus' terms are used to fund them. The oddball outfit in this film were essentially on a suicide mission and they were not mercenaries out to make big money (for a soldier anyway). You are making a poor comparison insofar as the motivations for the two groups which you are comparing are as different as could be.
